Local setup

Install

Install the timelake command as in Quick start. It goes to ~/.cargo/bin.

Create the table

Create the table once, with the columns the files will have. Each file then only appends.

$ mkdir -p ~/timelake-ingest/incoming ~/timelake-ingest/done && cd ~/timelake-ingest
$ export TIMELAKE_WAREHOUSE=./warehouse
$ timelake create iot.readings --schema "time:timestamptz,device_id:string,temp:double,humidity:int" \
    --time-column time --series-key device_id
created iot.readings at file:///…/timelake-ingest/warehouse/iot/readings
